The 2020 Indindoli Pinot comes from the front yard of Carmine Indindoli. This wine is a tribute to my friendship and the deep felt gratification I have for Carmine who continues to mentor me to this day. A combination of Swan, 667, and 115 clones, this vineyard was Carmine's personal project vineyard on his property on Vine School Road. I never had access to it because he used it for his wine. However, the year Carmine retired, he offered the fruit to me. To describe the wine as captivating would be an understatement. I intentionally made the wine to be on the bigger side of Pinot Noir. I have found that opening the bottle and giving it time is both appropriate and beneficial. This Pinot is an expression of me, my style of winemaking, where elegance intersects with complexity. This Pinot shows Dark Cherry and bright Cherry notes with loads of cola. Strawberry and Rhubarb extend into the midpalate with hints of stone, herb and earth slowly insinuating their way in. Flavors of caramelized Rhubarb, clove and Asian spice linger on the velvety and silky texture. The wine is complex and transforms as it opens.
