The 2022 Ionnatti Zin originates from the eastern ridgetop of the Dry Creek Valley. The vineyard sits at around 1000 feet and is predominately boomer loam soil and volcanic loam. 2022 Zinfandel, Ionnatti Vineyard is planted with heritage Dupratte clone. On the nose, the wine explodes with aromatics of crushed berry compote, cherry and baked berry pie and cooking spices in this intensely fruit driven wine. The wine transitions seamlessly into a silky, full bodied and elegant wine bursting with Mulberry, Boysenberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, and orange zest. Its power and concentration of fruit is astonishing and provides a lushness and roundly fruity approach that doesn't hinder its lingering, textured complexity. Driven by distinct berry notes and supported by a perfectly balanced acidity and delicious notes of stone fruit and spice. This zinfandel defines fruit bomb and will only get better with time. Food pairing suggestions: Aged Chedder, and Gouda. Zinfandel also pairs well with Gorgonzola. Grilled meats, Hawaiian style pizza or almost any pasta with red sauce.
